Easter Wishes...

Well I've finally put down my Gelli plate for 5 minutes to do some marbling instead.
I don't think in all my years of posting on my blog I have created an Easter card but this idea had been burning away for some time so I decided to give it a go. I downloaded an egg shaped template from Pinterest ( I would give you the link but I still cannot access Pinterest, grr, it's been about 4-5 weeks now and although I can upload my pics I can't do anything else on Pinterest. I beginning to wonder now if I ever will).

However, I'm sure there are other free egg templates on the web. I simply used the template to cut an egg shaped aperture in a piece of acetate to use as a stencil.

I used shaving foam to create my marbled effect, adding Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry reinker and Fossilized Amber and then swirled with cocktail stick. I bought the value shaving foam from Tesco, it is cheap and works really well. I laid my stencil on top of the shaving foam and then placed my cardstock on top.

I only wanted to have a partial egg outline so I deliberately did not press too hard on the side where I wanted to add my sentiment.

The lovely Easter Wishes sentiment is by Penny Black (2006 3603E).

I then went onto try some other colours, this time more earthy tones for a completely different look.

Then, without adding more ink, I just swirled the foam around for a completely different marbled effect.

Easter 1c

Makes for some fantastic abstract art :)

Easter 1d

Well, I hope you all have a fantastic Easter, thank you for stopping by, I'll be back soon x
