Celebrating autumn...

This is most definitely my favourite time of year, so I have created a leafy wreath to celebrate the arrival of autumn.

Very easy to create, if a little time consuming, but I think worth the effort...

autumn

X-cut have brought out some fab leaf punches...the one I've used is the Hawthorn shown below. I just love that it embosses the little leaf veins..

First I sprayed some leaves with Glimmer Mist in Tiger Lily, a gorgeous shimmery orange...

autumn 4

You can see them a bit better here. I continued to give them a good dousing until they were completely covered...

autumn 5

Whilst they were still wet I gave them a bit of a scrunching and let them dry completely before moving on. I then edged them in Tim Holtz distress ink in Brushed Corduroy...

autumn 8

I die cut my hoop with 2 circle nesties and started to layer up my leaves. I used Stix 2 tape as I'm not good with wet glue!

autumn 7

And this is the result. It measures approx 12cm across.

autumn 2

I really enjoyed making this wreath and wouldn't mind trying other versions with different leaves punches. I think a holly wreath with berries would be good for Christmas.

Right, gotta dash, my holiday is zipping past at an incredible rate and I've still got so much I want to fit in!

See you again soon.

Hi Sarita - I'm just over catching up with your blog and looking through your posts in no particular order...

I need to say that this wreath is absolutely stunning... when i saw the top of the post first, I actually thought you'd been going round collecting leaves from the floor (I picked a few up on a short walk the other day) and then i see that you've made them OMG - you have done just the fabbiest job on them... EVERYTHING you do is stunning and awesome, and even though i've been rubbish at blogging of late, i always come here to catch up with what you've been up to... and its always gorgeous.

Hope you are keeping well,
