It's official...

...I am definitely going through a handmade flower phase, but I have to say I'm really enjoying it!

I found a fab tissue paper flower tutorial over at the Scrap Studio which you can find here.

First I made this box, which I stamped in black ink using my swirly toile stamp onto vanilla cardstock.

Then I made a card to match, and decided this would make for a contemporary Valentine's day card. I was going to create a Valentine's card using die cut hearts but I'm still waiting for my Sizzix hearts dies to arrive, so I made this flower card and used a heart shaped gem from Prima instead.

To make the flowers I used at least 15-20 layers of tissue paper plus I die cut several scalloped circles from an old dictionary. I was a bit worried when it came to shaping the flower, but it seems the more you crumple it up the better it looks!

Finally, just for fun I ceated this place setting for our Valentine's dinner, using a Delish frame stamp.

Well, I am surprised that I managed to get any photos taken today, it is so miserable and dark here, I really hate this time of year. I have so little free time at the mo as I'm busy at work all week and my health has taken a bit of a tumble, so I have to try and rest as much as possible at the weekend. Please bear with me if I don't get round to seeing you all, I will catch up as soon as I feel a bit better ;)
