A new chapter in my card making life...

Well, it has been many many years since I have done any sketching, but I have finally taken the plunge and had a dabble at designing some images for card making. This is the first of several images that I have created. It is quite daunting putting my artwork on display for you all to see, as nobody, except hubby and family, has ever seen my work. The sketches are still very much in their infancy as I am out of practice, but I am quietly confident that they will improve with time. The sketch on this card still has the pencil drawing underneath so please forgive me as I don't feel confident enough yet to commit my sketch directly from pen to paper!
Other products used are Pink Petticoat backing papers and "my forever friend" sentiment, and the "With Love" sentiment is by Hobby Art.
You can get a closer look at the image by clicking on the picture. I would love to know what you think of my sketch(good or bad!!)

I am not one to say I like something if I don't.. I just keep quiet and avoid saying anything at all!!

This is not to my personal taste, but I think the drawing is good, and I think it would be commercial in the crafting world. In other words, I like it, but wouldn't buy it. It's like recognising that Brad Pitt is good-looking, but not fancying him myself. Does that make any kind of sense at all? ;o)

I honestly thought that it was a Pink Petticoat image, until I read the post! I say go for it! You clearly have something there to offer.

I'm glad you took the plunge, and I'm looking forward to seeing more, as with your drawing skill, I think you could well come up with something that IS to my taste!! Not that you have said you will be marketing them.

OK.. I'm going to shut up now.

I think it is a lovely image - has a very appealing face and is not quite so twee as some we see out there. It didn't strike me as being a PP image - in some ways it's a bit simlar to Kerry Jo but with a slightly less wacky edge to it... in that way I think it could be commercially appealing :-) I know it's all personal taste, but personally I definitely prefer it to these uber cute images - especially the ones with no mouths!!

Look forward to seeing some more of your efforts

Wow Sarita. I love the card (as I do all your cards) and definately the image. This is definately something that I would use on my cards if it were available as a stamp! What with yours and Kerry Jo's sketching abilities you put me to shame. I wish I your talent!

Wow Honey this is fantastic, firstly I admire that layout colours and papers very much, SECONDLY, don't hide your talent girl, this is great the sort of image I would buy if it was a stamp, It has a simple but girly elegance about it and would make a wonderful card for those hard to please in-between girls. Well I am no expert so you don't need to take any notice of me. Thank you so much for sharing your great talent with us all, hope to meet you one day in Whitstable
